The orchestra took form in 2020 during a string of improvisative music workshops held in Szeged. Its main feature is free improvisation and contemporary improvised music partly in connection to improvised early music, but the orchestra plays Szilárd Mezei's compositions too. The orchestra members have very diverse backgrounds, Margit Szvetnyik plays early music, Zoltán Csányi and Szilárd Mezei are immersed in contemporary composed and improvised music, folk music and jazz, while Kornél Jenei is engaged in meditative sound bath soundscapes. Their meeting point is improvisation, one of the most elemental and deepest forms of musical expression.
