The play Life Is a Dream is an adaptation of the Baroque drama by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, in which the question of captivity and liberation lies at the heart of an exploration of various relationships, viewed from a contemporary perspective shaped by the centuries that separate us from the author's original work. Director Selma Spahić reinterprets this dramatic classic not merely by updating the text, but above all by employing different mechanisms to open up new layers of meaning and reconstructing them through a complex choice of theatrical languages.
